Blog Reflection

Blog Reflection

Actually, it's my first time to create a blog. So, I did not make much sense about blog writing at first. When I reviewed my previous posts, the language is blunt and uncomfortable. It does not look like a public writing but a academic writing. The tone is too formal so that my blog cannot reflect my own characterisitcs. Readers are difficult to make sense about the writer. Hence, they may rarely agree with my point of view, or they cannot be convinced by my post.

The next problem would be the visual aesthetics. All my previous posts ignored this point. Those writings were seldom divided into several paragraphs. May be that is one of the reason why my blog had been viewed by several people because the type setting looks like unconscionable. Also, I have never add any picture or other sources to my blog. When I reviewed my blog as a reader, I think it's boring to look through such monotonous site.

Additionally, blog is a good tool to connect the course instructor and students. We can post our thoughts about the writing assignments so that the instructor could know well about our topics and help us to deal with some problems.

That's just a short video about how to write blog.
I suggest that any jackaroo to look this video so that you may not make so many mistakes like I did before.

Once you know the basic information about creating a blog, you have to imporve it and to make it more interesting.
There are six ways to make your blog posts more interesting.

Blog is an effective method to communicate with others, to record your own thoughts and to imporve your writing skills. Hence, I'd like to continute it after this class. Although my posts look like boring now, I would improve it after getting advices from others' blogs and viewng more relative videos.

Writing a narrative

The topic of my commonplace essay would be the failure of the globalizing project of  Korean pop music.

As an Asian, I used to prefer to believe that Korean pop music had gained a success in the US market. The globalizing project was always mentioned by the Korean pop music, and increasing number of Korean pop stars proclaimed their debuts in the United States. It seems that korean pop music mounted a determined and confident bid campaign for publicizing its music around the world.  Of course, the optimistic attitude about the globalizing seems within reasons. Korean pop stars have held concerts in Western countries, and the tickets can always be sold out in couples of minutes. Actually, the entertainment companies have been mostly subsisting on concert ticket sales. Hence, the gains on sale of concerts' tickets seems to verify its success.

However, when I talk to my American classmates about Korean pop stars such as Rain and Boa who have been regarded as stars of Asia, most hold the aloofness while others even never heard these two artists. Also, the albums of Korean artists are difficult to be find on the bestseller lists of shops or itunes. Things look absolutely different from what I imagine. Actually, several American well-known TV stations have ever expressed the negative opinions about the Korean pop culture openly. They insists that the transition of Korean pop music looks like a blunt imitation of outdated American music, and the Korean music is now filled with electronic rhythm but ignore the essence of music. Also, when I went to a music concert of a Korean pop star, I discovered that 80% of audiences are Asian or Asian-American people. Hence, the K-pop music seems to fail to be accepted by the native American. That's why I believe the K-pop wave has not yet entered into the American market.

Reflection Analytical Research Project

The analytical research project is a challenging but interesting process for me.
Actually, I got trouble with the PSA because I was confused about the purpose of the PSA. I failed to focus on just one primary source. There are two sources in my primary source so that it was difficult for the reader to catch the thesis statement of my paper.
After reading the feedback from my instructor, I revised my PSA and focused on just one primary source instead of a comparison of two primary source. Once I revised my paper, I found it was much easier to move to SSI because there was only one direction of my paper.

The next challenge would be the integration of primary source and secondary source. The primary source analysis is all my own understanding of a specific source. All details in my PSA should move to a general direction so that I can reach a thesis statement in the SSI. The method that I used to combine the primary source and secondary source is effective. However, the problem is the lack of the connection between the evidence and my statement in each paragraph. I talked to my instructor several times. We always tried to figure out this problem in the conference  time.

For the final ARP, I just revised some confusing points and wrote a general evaluation in upper level beyond the primary source.

The most valuable aspect of this project would be the progressive procedure. Such procedure helps me make more sense about the analytical writing.

The Challenges that I encountered while working on this project:
first would be the jmisunderstanding in PSA. My primary source analysis focused on a comparison of two sources rather than a analysis of one source.

second is the integration of primary source and secondary source. I always forgot to go back to my primary source after discussing the evidence.

The difference between this project and one that I did before:
Last quarter, I did a research project for a comparison between two companies. The biggest difference is that I do not have to analyze the primary source. It could be a multidimensional writing because the purpose is not to focus on one specific aspect of these two companies but to evaluate and compare their performances in different aspects.
For the ARP, all parts of analysis should serve for the one thesis statement. The writer cannot reach separate conclusion in each part of analysis.
